Dyslexia Awareness Month

October is Dyslexia Awareness month. Both Nessy and the British Dyslexia Association are campaigning for all teacher training courses to include dyslexia awareness (because whilst around 10% of learners, so 3 in a class of 30 will have dyslexia, yet incredibly some training courses don’t) and for every school to have a specialist dyslexia teacher and extra funding. In this way, dyslexic students can be identified and supported through screenings and assessments, additional specialist teaching and reasonable classroom adjustments. Staff can be supported and empowered too, especially in such educationally challenging times!

Why not take a look at the links below for further information and to see how you can support?

Many dyslexic learners are not getting the help they need.

Help make a change and join the movement.
